How does the Campus France pre-consular procedure work?

If you live in an Études en France country and you have already been admitted by a French institution, you still need to complete Campus France's pre-consular procedure before applying for your visa. Everything is done online on the Études en France platform, which has a new interface since 1 October 2026.

Step by step:

1. Log in to your personal space and create an "I have been accepted" file.
2. Fill in your academic background and explain your study plans in France.
3. Upload the required documents, including your admission letter.
4. Submit your file to Campus France and pay the processing fee (the amount depends on your country).
5. Attend an interview if your Campus France office requires one.
6. Once your file is validated, Campus France tells you that you can apply for your visa on France-Visas.

Please note: completing the Campus France procedure does not guarantee that your visa will be issued. The consulate makes the final decision.
