I'm a European student. How do I apply to study in France?

You count as a European student if you are a national of an EU country, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Monaco or Andorra. You don't need a visa, and you pay the same university fees as French students.

  • First year of a bachelor's degree (or other first-year programme): apply on Parcoursup. For the 2027 intake, the platform opens in December 2026 and applications run from January to March 2027.
  • First year of a master's degree: apply on Mon Master. In 2026, applications ran from 17 February to 16 March; the 2027 dates will be published on the platform.
  • Other years, doctorates and most private schools: contact the institutions directly. Campus France's programme search gives their contact details.

Apply to several institutions to improve your chances. More information: Campus France for EU students.
