✅ In the vast majority of cases, your housing certificate will be within 30 km of your school — as long as your school is located in the same city or metropolitan area as the one you selected on Livinfrance.
👉 Even if we don’t ask for your school’s exact address, we know the main student areas and always respect the rules required by the embassy.
📌 The address shown on your certificate is assigned automatically (randomly within the city), and cannot be changed.
🏙️For example:
- Your university is in Villeneuve d’Ascq (a city in the Lille metropolitan area).
- You receive a housing certificate with an address in Roubaix.
✅ No problem — that’s less than 30 km!
🗼What about Paris?
Paris is a bit different.
It’s a large city, and some housing options might be more than 30 km from your school if you don’t choose the right area.

❌ If your school is not in a city available on LivinFrance:
We cannot guarantee that the address will be within 30 km.
And if this rule isn’t respected, your visa might be refused by the embassy.
➡️ In that case, we cannot issue a housing certificate.
