An error on your housing certificate or a change of plans? No worries! You can modify it under certain conditions. Find out what can be adjusted, the processing times, and the steps to follow to avoid any issues with your visa.
Modification Conditions
You can modify your Livinfrance housing certificate as long as it is still valid and has at least 5 days remaining before expiration. This time frame is necessary because, for a visa application, your housing certificate must remain valid throughout the entire review process by the embassy.
If your housing certificate expires before your visa process is completed, the embassy may reject your visa application. Additionally, an expired certificate cannot be refunded by Livinfrance.
The validity of the housing certificate is 45 days.
What to Do If Your Certificate Is About to Expire?
If your certificate is close to expiring but you need to renew it, we recommend purchasing a new one. This ensures you have a valid document throughout your visa application. The old certificate will not be refunded unless it meets our refund conditions.
Modifiable Information
The following details can be modified on your certificate:
- First/Last Name (only for minor spelling corrections, e.g., "Maria" instead of "Marie"—not for identity changes like "John Doe" instead of "Richard Smith")
- City of Birth
- Country of Birth
- Date of Birth
- Planned Arrival Date
- Length of Stay
Identity changes will not be accepted.
Processing Time
Your housing certificate modification will be processed within 1 to 2 business days (excluding weekends).
Modification Fees
The modification fee is 30 euros.
