How can I get my deposit back at the end of my stay?
After your departure, the owner has a maximum of two months to return your deposit.
In order to proceed with the transfer of this security deposit, the owner will ask you for a document called "IBAN."
Here's an example:
The IBAN code is simply the unique identifier of a bank account, very useful for identifying it in the account holder's home country, as well as in the SEPA zone.
Your landlord will need this document from the bank. If the bank cannot provide it to you, the return of your deposit may be impossible in this situation.
To resolve your situation, we recommend creating a free bank account here on N26. Once this account is open, you can share the requested IBAN.
