How to get a bank account when under 18 ?

A minor cannot open a bank account on his own, he must be accompanied by his legal representative. 

If you are a minor and you are not yet in France, then you must wait until you are in France with one of your parents or legal representative to open a bank account. 

If you are a minor and you are in France, then you must go directly to the bank branch of your choice and ask them for the procedure to follow with your legal representative. 

Here is the list of supporting documents to be provided :

• Identity documents of the legal representatives and the child
• A birth certificate or family record book.
• Proof of address less than 3 months old

If you are a minor and you are in France and your legal representative is not in France, then you must go directly to the bank branch of your choice, and ask them for the procedure to follow.
