I am a lodger, can I open a bank account?

You should know that to open a bank account, you must be able to provide proof of address. In general, you submit your rental contract, water, electricity or telephone bill, etc. But what if these documents are not in your name ?

It's simple, you just have to ask the person who is hosting you to draw up a certificate of accommodation stating that you are indeed staying with them. To this document, you must add your identity card, that of your host and proof of address of your host ! 

Then, all you have to do is make an appointment at a bank branch and submit your file to finalise your bank account application 🏦
