I don't live in France yet, am I eligible for N26 bank account?

N26 is a great solution we recommend to international students coming to France. Besides opening a bank account for free, N26 helps you avoid the paperwork and excessive fees that traditional banks charge as well as control your finances through the N26 app.
To open an account with N26, you must meet a number of requirements, including your current country of residence and your nationality

The different countries

You can open an account from your country if you meet the other N26 requirements and live in one of these 23 countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the US.

However, If you are not from the 23 countries listed, you can open a bank account with N26 in France if you live in one of these countries listed here.

Supported IDs

As part of the sign-up process, N26 will conduct an ID verification process to confirm your identity. This process will depend on your country of residence, nationality, and type of ID you use.

For students coming to France, check this list for the supported identification documents you can provide. It can be your passport, ID cards, and residence permit.

If your nationality is included in the list below, it means that N26 is unable to offer you an account from your home country & even if you live in France.
