What is prorated rent?

Prorated rent is applied when a tenant moves in or out during the middle of the month.

Instead of paying the full month's rent, the tenant only pays for the days they actually occupy the property.

This practice ensures fair billing, aligned with the actual period of occupancy

Example: Julien moves into a new apartment on March 15th. The monthly rent is €600. For March, he pays prorated rent: €600 / 31 days * 17 days (from March 15th to March 31st) = €329.03.
