What's the CVEC ? What should I do ?

The CVEC (Student and Campus Life Contribution) is a mandatory contribution collected by CROUS to fund services that improve student life in France, including student support, healthcare, sports, cultural activities and prevention initiatives.

For the 2026–2027 academic year, the CVEC fee is €105.

🎓 Is the CVEC mandatory?

If you’re enrolling in an initial higher education programme in France, you’ll generally need to complete the CVEC process before your administrative enrolment at your university or school.

Once you’ve completed the process, you’ll receive a CVEC certificate (attestation CVEC). Your university or school will ask you for this document to complete your enrolment.

Even if you’re exempt from paying the fee, you’ll generally still need to complete the process and obtain your CVEC certificate.

💳 How do you pay the CVEC?

1. Log in or create an account on MesServices.etudiant.gouv.fr.
2. Go to the official CVEC website.
3. Select the city where you’ll be studying and follow the instructions.
4. If you’re required to pay, pay the €105 fee online by bank card. You can also pay in cash at an authorised Nirio payment point.
5. Download and keep your CVEC certificate — you’ll need it to complete your enrolment.

💡 You may be exempt

Some students may be exempt from paying the CVEC, including certain scholarship students, refugees, beneficiaries of subsidiary protection and asylum seekers.

Some programmes and situations are also not subject to the CVEC, including certain international exchange students, students enrolled in a BTS programme at a lycée, and some students in continuing education.
