How long does the CAF take to process my application?

The CAF can take some time, so be patient!

Once your file is complete, processing takes about 36 days on average. It is often longer at the start of the academic year (September and October), when the CAF receives the most student applications.

You can follow the status of your file at any time in your account on caf.fr: waiting, in progress or processed.

Remember that aid starts the month after you apply, and the first payment arrives around the 5th of the following month.
