- Our advices to get CAF
Do I need a birth certificate translated into French for CAF request?
Depending on your situation and your profile, the CAF may ask you for a birth certificate to complete your application. This document is rarely requested, but it is preferable to have it ready so as not to lengthen the processing time!
The translation must also be sworn to be valid, i.e. known as an official document by the administrative services: the translation therefore has a legal value.
Countries where translation of the translation is not required:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France (mainland, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Reunion Island), Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Spain (including Balearic and Canary Islands), Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal (including Madeira and Azores), Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Gibraltar).
